We booked a one-night stay and went into it knowing it’s iconic but also wondering if it’s actually worth the price. Here’s the honest breakdown.

The first impression

Walking into The Plaza feels like stepping into a movie. It’s grand, classic, and instantly gives that “okay wait… this is special feeling.

From the lobby to the details, everything feels timeless. It’s one of those places where you naturally slow down and just take it in.

The room

The room was beautiful and very classic New York luxury. Think elegant, polished, and exactly what you’d expect from a place with this kind of reputation.

But if we’re being honest?

You’re not booking The Plaza just for the room.

You’re booking it for the experience.

What makes it worth it

• The Champagne Bar

    This is a must. Even if you’re not staying overnight, it’s worth stopping in. It sets the tone immediately and feels like the start of a proper night.

• The iconic robe moment

    You have to do it. Put the robe on, order room service, and lean into the whole thing. That’s part of the experience.

• Breakfast at The Palm Court

    This was one of our favorite parts. The space is stunning, and it’s one of those “I’m so glad we did this” moments. It feels like a real New York experience.

• The location

    Right by Central Park, so perfect for a morning walk, coffee, and just enjoying the city in a slower way.

This is not a “value” stay.

We paid around $1,400 for one night and while it was beautiful, this isn’t something you book expecting practicality.

It’s a one-time, bucket list experience.

Yes! Just at least once.

If you go into it for the experience, lean into every part of it, and make a whole night out of it… it’s absolutely worth doing.

Would we stay again every time we’re in the city? Probably not.

But are we happy we did it? 100%.
